TRINITY CENTER, Calif. — James E. Swett Field, Trinity Center Airport, provides public-use general aviation access near Trinity Lake and the Trinity Alps Wilderness. Trinity County’s airport page identifies runway 14/32 as an asphalt surface 3,215 feet long and 50 feet wide, at an elevation of 2,390 feet.

Details that matter to pilots

The county airport listing describes 200-foot displaced thresholds at each end, right-hand traffic for Runway 32, local UNICOM at 122.9 and an airport weather observation phone at 530-266-3220. The airport identifier is sometimes rendered as 086 in county materials; pilots should verify the identifier and all current information through FAA charts, NOTAMs and approved aviation resources, rather than relying on typography in a website heading.

Trinity County’s Airports Division says there is no fuel and no rental-car service at any of the five county-operated airports. It also identifies overnight tie-downs at $3 per night, subject to current terms, and says hangar leasing is available at Trinity Center, Weaverville and Hayfork. For hangar or operating questions, call the county Department of Transportation at 530-623-1365.

Plan arrival and ground travel

General aviation travelers should confirm runway status, weather, services and any restrictions with current aviation information before departure. A remote airport is not a full-service commercial terminal; arrange transportation and other supplies beforehand. Visitors to nearby lake and mountain areas should also check current road access and seasonal conditions.
